SecureRemoteManagementis patented
technology for access to and management of remote network devices. Used by network administrators for secure
management access to network devices, SRM provides a back-up communication path, encrypted management traffic, and
centralized access control. >> learn more
INTRODUCTION:
The introductory video describes the network environment used in the demonstration. Secure Remote Management
technology is introduced and key concepts are reviewed. This demo uses the P2 Model, which is a 1U form
factor appliance. Engedi has also developed a P3 Model that is a small form factor device that includes the
capability to use cellular for the Out-of-Band communication.

Introductory
Video
PART 1: This first part of the demonstration is
intended to give you a feel for the User Interface and command structure of the SRM appliance. We show you how to
set-up an access account using the Command Line Interface (CLI) and show you how the SRMa controls access to
managed devices.
Part 1
PART 2: illustrates
the firewall capabilities of the SRMa. We show you how the SRMa controls access to the management services
such as terminal protocols, logging, and authentication services via the SRMa
firewall.
Part
2
PART 3: demonstrates administrator
accounting, authentication, and authorization, and illustrates how the SRMa supports centralized
authentication of the managed devices. The SRMa is designed to permit all network administrators to be
authenticated centrally, rather than permitting direct telnet access to the SRMa or managed devices. This is
a key security feature of the SRMa and one that differentiates the SRMa from the design of many competing
products.
Part
3
PART 4: demonstrates use of the back-up
Out-of-Band communication path by the SRMa™. The SRMa model in this video uses a plain old telephone
system(POTS) line as back-up. Later models of the SRMa work with a cellular Out-of-Band
back-up.
Part
4
PART 5: provides a brief look at the
Graphical User Interface, or GUI, of the SRMa. The GUI interface provides the same control as does the
CLI, and is a potential interface choice for a user if he or she prefers it over the
CLI.

reviews the capabilities of Secure Remote Management technology. It includes a listing of key
features.
